Africa Youth ICT and Nepad Conference

Dear Friends and Colleagues


The National Youth Council of Namibia is hosting a Africa Youth Information Technology Conference for National Youth Councils in Africa, in collaboration
ith the World Assembly of Youth. The conference , to be held from 11- 20 August 2003, and is open to national youth councils from the African Continent,as well as international NGO’s promoting ICT for youth organisation.
The conference will address the challenges and opportunities of the age of information as they relate to National Youth Councils. Some practical lessons
shall also be provided in area such as website design, database design and so forth. Therefore inviting your council to send delegates to the conference:

Programme and Objectives

1 The objective of the conference which is co-organised by National Youth Council of Namibia( NYC), World Assembly of Youth (WAY) In collaboration with Ministry of Higher Education, Training and Employment Creation (Namibia), UN Secretariat, UN Development Programme, Pan - African Youth Movement


Highlight the importance of ICT to the management and administration of National Youth Council in Africa;

Raise awareness of the best practices in the use of ICT in Africa;
Lobby for technical and financial support for the provision of ICT resources to
youth and youth organisations in Africa;
-Enable National Youth Council to draw up action plans for ICT development;
- Exchange ideas and innovations in the field of ICT.


Participation

The conference will be attended by representative from National Youth Council in Africa, all youth organisation, ICT experts, Ministers, international invited guests.

4This invitation is open to all youth Council, youth organisations working in african countries. Please distribute this invitation to your contacts and partner organisation in Africa

5The confirmation of participation will be sent three days after applicatio are received.A final list of participant will be sent to the Youth council, youth organisation by first week of July 03

Expenses and Financing

6. The organisers shall provide for your accommodation, food and local transport,but you are required to pay for your own return air windhoek to (Namibia). Registration closed on 25th JULY 03,

Visa Requirements
7For participants who require a visa to enter Namibia, please ensure that a copy of your passport be attached to the application form. All participants requiring visa to enter Namibia are requested to apply personally for a visa at a Namibian Embassy located nearest to their location. The organisers will provided These participants with a letter addressed to the Namibia Embassy concerned to
Express support for the application and to seek help to expedite the processing Period.

Registration Fee

8. U$ 50 will be paid by each participant on arrival at the registration venue

9. A copy of the application form is attached. All application, fully and legibly completed, should be submitted to the National Youth Council of Namibia by or before 24 April 03.You are strongly encouraged to send in the application forms via email
